Section II: Expenditure Frequency [29]

  1. The Student Government shall not authorize more than one (1) expenditure per calendar week, regardless of the amount, in order to prevent the rapid depletion of the Student Government budget.
  2. For the purposes of this section, a calendar week shall be defined as Monday through Sunday. Exceptions to this restriction may only be granted under the following conditions:

a. A written request for an exception is submitted to the Treasurer and designated staff mentor, clearly stating the necessity of the additional expenditure; and

b. The exception is approved by a two-thirds (½) majority vote of the Student Government; and

c. The designated staff mentor provides written authorization of the exception.

  1. Emergency expenditures directly related to the health, safety, or welfare of students may be authorized outside of this restriction with the immediate approval of the designated staff mentor and the Principal. They shall be reported to the full Student Government at the next scheduled meeting.
  2. The Treasurer shall maintain and present a running log of all weekly expenditures at every Legislative Meeting to ensure transparency and compliance with this section.
