One of the privileges of being a member of the Student Government is all the special field trips and training you get.
We are going in our second field trip this year, which will be to the State of Michigan Capitol Building in Lansing, MI. During this trip, we will receive Advocacy Training from MAPSA (Michigan Association of Public School Academies), a tour of the Capitol Building, attend a live session of House/Senate, meet your district representatives, and enjoy a luncheon at MAPSA’s training center overlooking the Capitol Building.
The itinerary is as follows:
8:30 AM Gather at the Cafeteria and Leave School
10:00 AM Advocacy Training at MAPSA
10:30 AM Custom Tour of the Capitol Building
11:30 AM Meet Reps/Sit on Sessions or Committee Meetings
12:00 PM Lunch at MAPSA
1:00 PM More Meetings at the Capitol Building
2:15 PM Head back to school
3:15 PM. Arrive at School for Dismissal
Please dress comfy and warmly for we will be doing lots of walking, some of which is outdoors. For more information, or if you haven’t received the permission slips yet, please check with your Student Government In-School Mentor.
