UASG Opens HESSGA Fieldtrips for 2024-2025 with Giant Step Conference Field Trip

Inclusion, Harmony & Acceptance Giant Step brings teenagers together from diverse backgrounds to discover all the issues they have in common. Public, private, charter, parochial and even home schools from across southeast Michigan have sent thousands of students to Giant Step. Students come from different neighborhoods, cultures, races, incomes and outlooks.

Register for the 2024 Giant Step Teen Conference

Dr. Hannah Schacter, assistant professor of psychology at Wayne State University is faculty advisor to the Giant Step Conference, overseeing our methods, mission and research. She studies adolescent social-emotional development, especially how youth adjust when faced with interpersonal stressors, such as bullying, discrimination, and dating violence. Dr. Schacter is an adjunct assistant professor with Merrill Palmer Skillman Institute.
