Good Morning Dear Student Government Members
As we come to close the 2022-2023 school year, here are some updates for Student Government:
1. Succession:
According to HESSGA Constitution:
Article XV– VACANCIES
Section I:
The President shall appoint vacancies not filled by normal succession in the Student Government or Senate occurring during the school year. Selected candidates must meet all requirements and recommendations for office.
Section II:
If the president shall not be able to complete his/her term of office, the vice president shall assume the presidency. The line of succession is president, vice president, secretary, treasurer, historian, parliamentarian, Public Relations Officer, then Media Officer.
We will be announcing the in-term Presidents and Executive Committees in the upcoming couple of weeks.
As far as class presidents, they continue to be the president of their classes next year till the elections of November 4, 2023.
2. Final Legislative Meetings of the year:
UASG – Wednesday, June 7, 2023, 3:30 – 5:00 PM
ULASG – Thursday, June 8, 2023, 3:30 – 5:00 PM
SIASG – Tuesday, June 13, 2023, 3:30 – 5:00 PM
3. Constitutional Amendments:
If you are interested in being on a committee during the summer to edit and update the Student Government constitution, which counts as community service for you, please send me an email with your name and grade, and phone number so I can contact you during the summer for permission slips to do that and more information.
